A Child's visual stimulation is very important. If your child is not seeing properly, the "weak" eye can become even weaker! It's not a bad idea to check your child's vision every once in a while. Of course, if you have real concerns discuss them with one of us, or make an appointment with an eye doctor. For children under one year of age, you can get a free exam through the InfantSEE program sponsored by the American Optometric Association. Go to their website: www.infantsee.org/
For older children, you can try an at home test. There is a simple and fun visual chart test you can perform at home (where your child may feel more relaxed). For preschool children, go to the website: www.preventblindness.org/children/distance_child.html,
