Ear Piercing
Ear piercing is available to our patients. For infants, we suggest waiting until the child is at least 4 months of age. We use the Blomdahl Medical Piercing System, a sterile procedure using a state of the art medical plastic ear stud. We prefer this system because there is absolutely no nickel metal, therefore we don't see the metal allergy that can develop even with 24k gold earrings. We suggest that the earring stay in place for six weeks to provide for full maturation of the piercing site.
You may want to give your child some acetaminophen/Tylenol before coming in for the piercing (please check Dosing Chart on our website for dosage of Tylenol). We will have you mark your child's ear with a special marker for the preferred piercing site.
The charge for this procedure is $60 and must be paid for by check or cash; we cannot file insurance for you. This must be paid before the procedure is begun.
Ear Piercing is done by Drs. Brown and Starr.
Please note that we can only provide this service to existing patients in our practice.
