Presence of Foreign Substances and Additives in Food

The American Academy of Pediatrics recently published recommendations regarding presence of  plastics and foreign substances in food.

 When preparing food or cleaning, take these points into consideration:

Look at the Recycling Code - try to avoid these if you can​:
Code 3 - may contain phthalates
Code 6 - contains styrene
Code 7 - may contain bisphenols

Avoid placing plastics in the dishwasher

Avoid microwaving food or beverages in the microwave
