THANK YOU!
Thank you to all of those who have expressed nice comments and condolences regarding Melissa's passing. Your acts of kindness are truly a nice testament of how wonderful Melissa was as a person and as part of the Streeterville Family. I've shared many of your comments with Melissa's family. We really miss her.
Some of you have inquired if there was a way to help Melissa's three children. The family has set up a Go Fund Me Page if you care to donate. Here is the link:

Melissa Rodriguez
November 14,1988 - April 25, 2021
It is with a very heavy heart to report that our lovely Melissa Rodriguez passed away suddenly from a non-COVID illness on April 25th at Loyola University Hospital. She had been battling with health issues for many years. Melissa was one of the toughest persons we’ve had the pleasure to work with. Despite her health issues, she never complained and never let how she was feeling interfere with her work at Streeterville. Melissa began working with us in the summer of 2012. She touched so many lives at Streeterville Pediatrics and will be sorely missed by all of us.
She is survived by her partner Andreas Ruiz, and her three young children - Emily, Emilio, and Ella. More info can be found at https://memorials.chapelc.com/melissa-rodriguez/4600116/index.php
Lauren Warn is Leaving!
Unfortunately for us and our patients, Lauren has made a decision to join the pediatric Genetics group at the University of Illinois. Despite
all the wonderful things she has done for us and our patients at Streeterville, we know that she will be a wonderful asset to the group
at the University of Illinois. We are sorry to see her leave and wish her the best in her new career! (10/2019)
Welcome, Lauren Warn!
We are pleased to welcome Lauren Warn, APN-NP to our family at Streeterville Pediatrics! She is a native Chicagoan who lives in the city now. Many of you have already met her.
Lauren Warn is thrilled to join Streeterville Pediatrics as a Nurse Practitioner. Lauren graduated from Lewis University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She spent her first 5 years as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Northwestern’s Prentice Women’s Hospital. During her time there she continued her professional studies to become a Nurse Practitioner. She received her Master of Science from Olivet Nazarene University. Lauren is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the American Association for Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society for Nursing.
Lauren believes in an integrative approach to medicine and understands the importance for parents and providers to work together as a team to care for each child. Her focus is on preventative medicine. She loves any opportunity to educate the entire family on how to make good choices for a long and healthy life. Lauren cannot wait to watch her patients grow!
Lauren lives in Chicago with her husband, daughter, and dog. Her hobbies include triathlons, yoga, being outdoors, and family time.
Farewell, Amanda Damon
It’s with sad hearts that we need to inform all of you that Amanda, our Nurse practitioner for the past 3-1/2 years left Streeterville Pediatrics in February. Amanda has accepted a position with Lurie Childrens Hospital in the department of Hematology and Oncology. In her new position, she’ll be able to pursue her passion for intense, complicated medical problems of children. We know that she’ll be a great asset to the program at Lurie.
We at Streeterville Pediatrics and many of our patients will miss her. Besides her superb medical capabilities, her caring, energetic, and wonderful demeanor will be fondly remembered. In the meantime, Lauren Warn, APN-NP (who trained with Amanda) has joined the family here at Streeterville (more info on Lauen Warn to follow).
Amanda would like to thank all her families and patients for allowing them to care for their children. She will miss each and every family that she has gotten to know so well!
We wish her the absolute best in her new position. Please join us in congratulating her on her new role. We thank her for all the wonderful care and service she’s provided to us and our patients.
